Tasty Dish - Pastry Pub

Tasted: Turkey Sandwich on wheat and Mediterranean Pasta Salad

If you've been wondering and worrying about the return of the Pastry Pub, worry no more. Finally, after several months of repairs due to a fire last December, the local favorite is open again. But rest assured, nothing has changed. There are still tempting treats peeking through the glass case; sandwiches piled high with meats, cheeses and veggies; and refreshing salads that pack a punch of flavor.

We tried the half sandwich/half salad combo. Good for those of us that can't make up our minds. The turkey sandwich hits the spot with fresh veggies and a spicy spread that bumps up the flavor factor. Oooo, and that bread? So soft, it's just like Mom's. And the Mediterranean Pasta Salad? Avocados, olives, tomato... Perfectly proportions of salad to dressing. Not too dry, not too soggy. That's hard to come by and we're picky.

Where: Pastry Pub (86 W. Center Street, Cedar City)
Chump Change: Salads and sandwiches for about $5 and up.

Local Talent - Silly Me Designs

We don't know about you, but this is probably the smartest idea we've ever seen. Silly Me Designs, a St. George design studio, offers a stress-free and budget-conscious way to order pretty and creative announcements. Whether you need an birthday party invitation, baby or wedding announcement or, really, whatever tickles your fancy, all you need to do is choose your design, send your image and other information and you'll get your proof back in 24 hours. Then you take it wherever you want to have it printed (even print it at home). All for 15 bones! 15 bones, people. That leaves you with enough cash to up the ante in the food department, if you ask us.

Tasty Dish - Basila's Cafe

Tasted: Classic Gyro, Pitas and Hummus and Key Lime Cheesecake

Anyone else love 'em some Greek food? Lamb, feta, hummus and creamy tzatziki sauce. Who could ask for anything more? If you're jonesing for a little Mediterranean fix, look no further than Basila's Cafe in St. George. We tried the classic gyro, which is a hard dish to not enjoy, in our opinion. Basila's serves their gyro's up salad style, with the meat, tzatziki, tomatoes and lettuce piled high on a soft and chewy pita with a side of lemon mashed potatoes. They offer everything from your typical Greek fare to pastas, salads and scrumptious desserts. Don't worry if you're too full for a treat; take some home with you. You won't regret that decision.

Where: Basila's Cafe (1013 E. 700 So., St. George)
Chump Change: Entrees range from $7 to $10.

Local Talent - Which Watch Designs

Looking for something to spice up that outfit? Which Watch Designs is a local shop featuring the newest jewelry trend: interchangeable watch bands. Buy a bunch of different bands that you can clip onto the watch face. In a blue mood? How about a blue and brown beaded band? Change things up for different seasons, holidays or just because you want to.

And don't worry. If it's not a watch you're looking for, this local artist also makes beautiful jewelry. Sterling & Stones Jewelry Designs offers sweet trinkets, like the Petite Fleurs necklace or the Lil' Oranges earrings. Too cute.

Don't worry about breaking the bank either. Watch faces go for $10 bucks while the bands go for $20. And the jewelry?? Try $10 to $15. Now that's something we all can afford.

Sweet Stuff - Twentyfive Main

What: Vanilla Strawberry, Vanilla and Chocolate Vanilla cupcakes
Where: Twentyfive Main (25 Main, St. George, Duh)

Is your sweet tooth aching? Head to Twentyfive Main for some of the tastiest treats south of, well, Utah County. We tried three different cupcakes and, boy, were they all good. Is that fresh strawberry in the Vanilla Strawberry frosting, you ask? Why, yes...it is. But don't fret. If it's something savory you're after, Twentyfive Main also offers delectable sandwiches, salads, pastas and even breakfast. And the best part? The decor is so cute, you'll wanna eat it, too.

Tasty Dish - City Cafe & Deli

Tasted: The New York with Pastrami, the San Antonio and the Paris

Looking for a little lunch spot with all the charm of a big city deli? Look no further than the City Cafe & Deli in Cedar City. Featuring tasty sandwiches piled high with imported meats and veggies on fresh ciabatta, this little restaurant does not disappoint. We loved the Paris sandwich and its tasty combination of turkey, feta, olives and sun-dried tomatoes. The San Antonio's saucy brisket left us with the meat sweats and that's a good thing. And the New York? Give us pastrami and roasted red peppers and we're happy. Oh, and the coolest thing about City Cafe & Deli? They have a BBQ every Saturday afternoon. Brisket, grilled sausages, burgers...yum.

Where: City Cafe & Deli (2002 North Main, Ste. 5, Cedar City)
Chump Change: Prices range from $5 to $7. You can't beat that with a bat.
